Father Son Golf Tournament 2012

Usually this is a weekend the whole family gets together and all the guys play golf. This year only dad and Jarod played because Austin and Colby were both working. But Paige, Jarod, and the girls came down for two nights! I had so much fun playing with Callyn and getting to hold Campbell!! Here are just a couple of pictures!

John!

I wanted to have a photo... So I picked a picture of one of the many blessings in my life!

Preparing For Honduras

I'm going to also use this blog to keep track of my preparation for Honduras! Preparing for a Mission trip is always full of spiritual battles. Satan is going to throw things at you to keep you from sharing the message. That's a given. Well I haven't even been to the first meeting for my mission trip to Honduras but I've already been struggling. But I am a child of God and as long as he is by my side and I put my trust in Him, there is nothing I can't handle.
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12.
Dad is just excited as I am for this mission trip. I couldn't ask for a better father! He started sending me little daily devotionals and I LOVE this one so much I want to share. Yes it's long but very worth while to read!

Years ago, a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast.
He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were
reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic . They dreaded the
Awful storms that raged across the Atlantic ,
Wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops.
As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received
 A steady stream of refusals.
Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached
the farmer. 'Are you a good farm hand?' the farmer asked him.
'Well, I can sleep when the wind blows,' answered the little man.
Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help,
Hired him. The little man worked well around the farm, busy from
dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work.
Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore.
Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed
next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the
little man and yelled, 'Get up! A storm is coming!
Tie things down before they blow away!'
The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, 'No
sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows.'
Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on
the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm.
To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had
 been covered with tarpaulins.
The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and thedoors
 were barred.
The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down.
Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his
hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while
 The wind blew.
When you're prepared spiritually, mentally, and physically,
you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the
 Wind blows through your life?
The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he
Had secured the farm against the storm.
We secure ourselves against the storms of life by
Grounding ourselves in the Word of God.
*We don't need to understand, we just need to hold
His hand to have peace in the middle of storms.*

and just another amazing thought I heard in church this week that was reaffirmed in one of dad's daily devotionals:
"Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God." John 8:47
Summary: Remember Prayer is your communication with God. A relationship can't be built through one sided conversation. So remember to stop and take time to LISTEN to what God is saying.

Life is Beautiful. Since 2010 I've been in a new chapter in my life. I have a different outlook on everything from God, school, friends, and one of the biggest is family. So I've decided blogging will be a good way to keep track of things....and eventually allow me the "strength" to forever delete facebook!!!!! Nothing good happens on facebook. It's just a lot of snooping. So hopefully I can get into the habit of blogging every week about the Beautiful life God has blessed me with!
